Forbidden Zone
In May 2024, Al Sweigart created a music video performance of Danny Elfman's theme for the 1980 movie Forbidden Zone made from several scroll art pieces. A video recording is posted on YouTube.
Over two dozen different scroll art programs, controlled by a DJ, played in sync with "The Forbidden Zone". Released in 1980, this song is by the band Oingo Boingo, led by Danny Elfman who composed the theme song to The Simpsons. This work was the culmination of a couple weeks of effort to apply scroll art animations (including some made specifically for this music video) to parts of the song.
