The Scroll Art Museum

Scroll art lets beginner programmers turn loops and print() into animated ASCII art.

PAC Wall

VIEW FULLSCREEN

The design for PAC Wall comes from the design of the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York. The cube-shaped building has large square tiles with diagonal stripe designs.

Take a moment to stare a spot on the screen as this piece scrolls. After creating PAC Wall, I noticed that if you look at the full screen it appears that the tiles are scrolling upwards. But if you stare at an individual square, it looks as though the lines are twisting in place while your peripheral vision registers the upward movement of the surrounding tiles. This paradox makes me want to explore other configurations of this code.
